They tried to knock her down.
But she refused fall.
They tried to bury her.
But like a lotus, she flourished through the dirt and muck.
They tried to burn her.
But like a Phoenix, she rose from the ashes.
They tried to steal her essences.
But didn't realize she was a goddess.
Woman.
Black woman.
