Valkyrie Rising
Last you read, the Valkyrie was defeated by The Beast of Legend. He plunged his cold blade into her heart, her warm blood spraying across The Legend's face. Her love hemorrhaging on barren ground. The Valkyrie using her last breath, still professing her pure, infinite love for the Legend. Alas another has fallen, decorating the courtyard of The Legend's "Black Tower".
The Valkyrie's death, so slow, so painful. Every breath she took bringing her closer to the death of who she was. The Valkyrie laying on barren ground for many moons. The heavens poured down, as if the angels were mourning their sister. The rain diluting and washing away the blood flowing from her fatal wound and the tears of endless sorrow from her eyes. In her dawdling, excruciating transition into death. The Valkyrie realize she was not made for love. Only for war. She needed to let the belief in love go, in order to be resurrected.
The Valkyrie felt the wound in her chest beginning to close. The heart she once possessed is gone, but no longer needed. Her brown eyes, glazing over with the acceptance of her new state. The Valkyrie's wings changed from the color of a dove to that of a black rose.
Accepting her defeat by the hand of The Beast of Legend. The Valkyrie bowed in respect towards "The Black Tower" and flew away. For she needs to fully heal and her blade needs sharpening.
